Everyone knows that pumps, pills, or exercises don't make the penis bigger, do they?
"I get asked that all the time, " says Michael, MD, a urologist at Harvard Medical Institute and Women's Clinic in Boston. "Men are ready to do anything to get penis enlargement. "But is it real?
Not really. "This is utter nonsense, " O'Leary repeats wearily. In the end, if it were that easy, every man would have had a 12-inch penis by now.
But common sense still doesn't stop everyone. Thanks to our constant pursuit of self-improvement, penis enlargement ads are on every corner. Illegal penis enlargement pills are being advertised on TV. Such advertisements will be sent to you continuously by email without your consent. More than 10, 000 men in the United States, possibly many more, have undergone more than controversial penis enlargement surgeries.
But do not rush to get money and lower your pants. We have reviewed all of the fraudulent penis enlargement methods and are ready to share with you.
Can my penis get bigger?
First, even if you are certain yourself that you have a small penis, oddly enough, it can be a normal size. The average size of an erect penis is 10-15 centimeters.
The length of a non-erect penis can vary. However, this means that if in the locker room you notice that someone has an impressive penis, it is unlikely to get much larger when erect and, conversely, a penis that appears small can increase significantly.
Second, if you still believe you have a small penis even if the ruler says otherwise, you can self-diagnose from the realm of psychiatry: dysmorphic disorder of your penis. This diagnosis comes close to distorting the perception of his or her body, leading to anarexia, when a person continues to think they are fat, even painfully thin. Most men who have penis enlargement surgery suffer from this disorder, according to one study. They remain unsatisfied with their size after the operation.
"Men with normal penis sizes who think they are small are more likely to benefit from a psychiatrist than a surgeon, " said Karen Elizabeth Boyle, MD, assistant professor of urology at the Johns Hopkins Clinic for Reproductive Medicine and Surgery in Baltimore.
Pumps, pills, mountain goat herbal tinctures, and other penis enlargement nonsense
Well enough of the reasonable advice from experts. Here's a quick rundown of how to enlarge your penis, if you haven't already.
Vacuum pump. This is a classic penis enlargement device. Place your penis in a cylinder that is attached to an air pump. With the help of a vacuum, more blood gets into the penis, making it erect and bigger. Then, using a ring, pinch the penis like a tourniquet to prevent blood backflow.
These pumps are used in medicine to treat sexual dysfunction. But the effects of an enlarged penis wear off quickly. Once you remove the ring, the penis will return to its normal size.
Possible risks include temporary impotence, abscesses, bruises, damage to blood vessels, and the skin loses its natural color and becomes thinner. The ring is worn for a maximum of 20-30 minutes, after which tissue damage can occur.
Exercises, weights, and other equipment. First of all, remember: you cannot overstretch your penis with exercises like the biceps. It's not a muscle. However, some devices and types of stimulation are designed to stretch the skin and lengthen the penis itself.
A famous example is jelqing, a series of pulling milking exercises. Of course, this method has an "old" (read "fake") history: The website speaks of an ancient Arabic technique that was passed on from father to son. Details should be announced after the money transfer. However, jelqing exercises are very time-consuming, i. e. 30-60 minutes of active penile retraction per day. And the real difficulty is that these exercises have to be done on a non-erect penis. So you need self-discipline, a lot of free time and a lockable door.
Another way to enlarge the penis is to wear a special device on the penis that stretches it. Sometimes this device needs to be weighted 8 hours a day. "Somehow they sent me something like that, " says O'Leary, "it looked like a medieval torture device. "
Do any of these methods work? Boyle says no. O'Leary says very carefully that maybe they can stretch the skin. But without affecting the penis size. In addition, these methods require inhumane care. Risks include tissue damage, ruptured blood vessels, and other problems. O'Leary recently saw a patient carry heavy weights on an erect penis and tear it through tissue damage. The result is unbearable pain and operations.
Tablets, nutritional supplements and creams. Complete nonsense. Without exceptions. Most are made with yohimba, ginseng and of course mountain goat weed. There are no recorded cases of penis enlargement with its help.
Surgical penis enlargement
Unlike most penis enlargement methods, surgery can be effective. Which even critics admit. Of course, there are risks, and the results may not be as impressive as you would hope them to be. A 2006 study published in European Urology found that the average length added during surgery is less than 2. 5 cm. Mark P. Solomon, MD, a plastic surgeon, notes that the results are modest but slightly better than they were before the operation.
There are two main types of penis enlargement surgery:
- Penis enlargement. The penis is attached to the pelvis with strong ligaments called support ligaments. They are connected to the penis and hide part of it in the body. Surgical cutting of these ligaments releases tension and theoretically more of the penis becomes visible. To prevent the ligaments from healing again, you may need to wear a weight or puller every day for six months.
- Thickening of the penis.Initially, the procedure consisted of removing fat tissue from another part of the body and introducing it into the penile shaft, making it more massive. However, this did not bring positive results. The fatty tissue was partially absorbed and the penis looked bumpy. "Those penises looked like cobblestone, " says Solomon.
A new version of this technique implants an allograft, tissue that has been transplanted from a genetically different organism and is used in many types of reconstructive surgery. The surgeons who perform these surgeries, Solomon and Brian J. Rosenthal, MD, a urologist practicing in Beverly Hills, agree that allografts give a longer and better result. We do not know how the donor tissue will behave after the transplant.
There are other types of penis enlargement. In overweight patients, the fatty tissue at the base of the penis is removed with liposuction. Some doctors perform surgery to increase the length and thickness of the penis at the same time, while others do it gradually.
While Dr. Rosenthal predicts the same widespread use of penis enlargement surgery as breast enlargement, contradicts Dr. Solomon. He sees the cost of the operation as the main obstacle. Penile lengthening surgery costs around $ 5-10 thousand. While the operation to thicken the allograft only costs between 5, 000 and 7, 000 without taking into account the cost of the operation itself. Taking the labor into account, the operation will cost more than $ 20, 000.
Penis Enlargement, Risks, and Complications
Before going to the operating table, it is of course important to think about the possible risks. No reputable medical organization recommends such surgery for men with a normal penis. The American Urology Association stresses that such surgeries are not recognized as safe or effective.
Several studies in this area are also not encouraging. For example, a study by the European Association of Urology that looked at 42 cases of surgical penis enlargement showed that only 35% of patients were satisfied and 50% continued to look for further penis enlargement surgeries.
"I had real nightmares, " says O'Leary, describing the times when she had to correct the effects of unsuccessful operations. Known complications include scarring, infections, changes in the normal erection angle, decreased sensation and impotence. In some cases, surgery can lead toPenis lengthening shortens the penis as the incised tissue grows to the pelvic floor and most of the penis ends up in the body.
Surgeons who perform operations claim that operations are generally successful and cases of serious complications are rare. "I've done thousands of them, " says Rosenthal. "We're pretty far advanced in improving the surgical technique, and they're helping the patients. "
You also have enough of the arguments that a psychiatrist can help people who undergo such operations. The operation enables the man to see himself better, he says. A woman who wants to enlarge her breasts because nobody calls crazy? So what's the difference?
O'Leary insists there is a difference. Unlike breast augmentation, no matter how we treat it, but which has become part of medical practice, penis enlargement surgery is not.
"If there was a legal process for such transactions, it wouldn't be a problem, " O'Leary continues. "But there is no such thing as an approved process that is safe and effective. "
Doctor - prescribe penis enlargement surgery!
If you're still hoping to find a legal way out, don't despair. There is one method of penis enlargement that all doctors recommend - weight loss. Yes, it doesn't sound serious, but it can help.
"Many of my patients who complained of a small penis were overweight, " says Boyle. Normal-sized penises look smaller against the background of the overweight body and hide in the folds of fat. Therefore, losing weight makes the penis look longer and bigger.
Be discreet. Most penis enlargement methods are a waste of money. Surgery is expensive, risky, and unexplored. With cancer, it makes sense to talk about experimental surgery, but it doesn't.
Think of it this way: the penis is a very delicate and delicate organ. And that's what makes it so extraordinary. It is worth thinking very carefully before daring to increase it. Is it worth the risk of turning a normal sized penis that is working well into a huge porn movie thing that may not work anymore.
